We are off to a great start to the new year! Many thanks to all who have donated so far and to those with projects in progress.
These are our totals as of June 2020.
Donations to date include 80 quilts; 52 totes, walker totes and backpacks; 89 pillowcases; 52 sets of NICU hearts; and 60 medical dolls. We also have received quilt tops that need to be quilted. See one of the Community Service Bee Keepers if you can help.
In early 2020, when COVID-19 first struck the U.S. and medical facilities were scrambling to find protective equipment, QACDG and its Community Service Bee stepped up to sew facemasks for the medical staff at UF Health/Shands. In the next few months, our members made thousands of masks for Shands and many other organizations.

Profile of Community Service Organizations
The Family Church of Gainesville: Many of us have visited the Family Church of Gainesville, the site of our annual February Day Camp. It is also one of the organizations to which our Community Service Bee donates some of the beautiful quilts made by QACDG members.
On Sun., Dec. 1, 2019, The Gainesville Sun published an article on the Kid2Kid Closet at the church. The Closet began by accepting donations of clothing and other necessities to help foster families prepare for the arrival of children. The mission quickly expanded to serve any family in need. Are you downsizing your stash? Community Service can always use donations of fabric at least ¼ yard or larger. At this point in time, we especially need large pieces to use for backing.
