About Our Guild

QACDG Summer Camp
Meet fellow quilters, learn and
have fun at QACDG events

Founded in 2003, the Quilters of Alachua County Day Guild, Inc. (QACDG) serves the community through donations, education and extensive community outreach. We offer our members several quilt bees, programs, workshops, and an annual two- to three-day Quilters’ Day Camp.

We are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preserving the heritage of quilting and related arts for individuals of North Central Florida through education, inspiration and information.

As a member of QACDG, you become part of a warm, friendly community of fabric artists. You’ll enjoy our monthly members’ programs with stimulating speakers and presentations, and workshops taught by well-known quilters and talented guild members.

Highly experienced quilters, newcomers to quilting, traditional needle-workers, machine- or hand-embroiderers, quilting historians or those pushing the limits of fabric art — all will find a place here.

For an overview of our organization, download our QACDG flyer.

Community Service

Since our founding in 2003, our members have made and donated quilts, tote bags, stuffed animals, pillowcases, medical dolls, and doll quilts. The list grows every year, thanks to our generous members!

Our community service items have been donated to numerous organizations in our area.

Under our community outreach program, guild members have taught quilting to children through the Foster Grandparent program, worked with Arbor House to teach quilting skills to their residents, held free quilting programs in the county libraries, and conducted other activities that take QACDG into the community to share our love of quilting.

Guild members are invited to help, and new ideas for reaching into our community are always welcome.
