Our guild has a long history of community service, spearheaded through our Community Service Bee.
Since our founding in 2003, our members have made and donated quilts, tote bags, stuffed animals, pillowcases, medical dolls and doll quilts. The list grows every year, thanks to our generous members!
The guild and our extensive community service initiatives were featured by WUFT News — a wonderful salute on the eve of our 2022 Community Service In-gathering. This is the annual event when we gather and sort hundreds of our handmade quilts, totes, pillowcases, and medical dolls for distribution to nonprofit organizations throughout Alachua County.
If you’d like to join the effort, please join us at the Senior Center on the 3rd Thursday of each month between 9:00 am and 11:30 am.
In early 2020, when COVID-19 first struck the U.S. and medical facilities were scrambling to find protective equipment, QACDG and its Community Service Bee stepped up to sew face masks for the medical staff at UF Health/Shands. In the next few months, our members made thousands of masks for Shands and many other organizations.

Where We Donate
Are you downsizing your fabric stash? Community Service can always use donations of fabric at least 1/4 yard or larger. We especially need large pieces to use for backing.
